In the following pages I will chronicle my step by step journey as a Church Planter
The “Pastor Selfie”

Over the course of the past few months, as I have scrolled from one photo to another on Instagram, I’ve noticed a trend in the type of photos that are posted by spiritual leaders across the country. It’s so obvious and so repetitive that I’ve dubbed this certain type of photo as the “Pastor Selfie”.

My personal definition of the Pastor Selfie is a Pastor, Youth Pastor or Worship Leader, taking or having someone take a photo of themselves.

Maybe during your time on Social Media you’ve came across a few Pastor Selfies.

There’s the photo of the Pastor wearing a Tank Top and slightly flexing as the photo’s taken.

The Pastor with his hero.

The Pastor with “this legend”.

The ever popular, Pastor making a funny face and pointing to whoever is next to him.

The Pastor in front of the mirror at the gym “doing work”.

The Pastor with the guy on the street he just witnessed too.

The close up shot of the Pastors newest shoes.

The Pastor with the guest speaker who just “killed it”.

And the most popular of all, the Pastor with his “smokin hot wife”.
This one normally comes complete with the appropriate hashtags like
#hotmamma #luckyman or #cantwaittogetherhometonight.

Now, I have to admit I’m pretty new to this Pastor thing.
I also have to say and totally agree with the idea that there’s nothing inherently wrong with putting photos up of ourselves enjoying life. However, when every third photo is a “selfie”, I think we need to not only rethink what photos we’re posting, but the reason we are posting them.
